Let me first start off by saying that I love the TV show Survivor. I have watched it since Richard Hatch won on the very first season. The producers have done a good job of mixing it up a bit to keep it fresh and interesting, but throughout the years there have been great seasons and then just good seasons. This year was a great season. I loved the fan vs. favorite concept and I thought the way the characters developed was wonderful. In 2012, when Cochran first appeared on the show, I thought he was wussy and weak so when he showed up on this season I had pretty low expectations of his ability to Outplay, Outwit and Outlast anyone. Boy was I wrong. He had gone from a whimpy nerd to a great strategic player. Gone was the emotional little boy and now was a confident man. Who would have every thought Cochran would win one challenge, must less 4 of them. He impressed me so much with his ability to play that game, that I was pulling for him early in the season. It was good to see that brains can win out over brawn.
The two people that joined Cochran in the final showdown, were just no match for him. Dawn Meehan came across as being weak and unstable, especially in the last few days. She had breakdown after breakdown, which made her look too weak to be the sole survivor. Sherri Biethman just didn’t play the game. She floated through the entire season with no strategy whatsoever.
In the end, Cochran was able to garner all the votes from the jury and win the $1,000,000 prize. Great job, Cochran.
